I have admired Cathy's talent as vocalist/performer/recording artist for many years. I had no idea her teaching talents were beyond spectacular.
I was in the process of making a CD and hadn't sung for many years. She hand-designed my lessons and my rehearsal CDs, to my voice and my individual needs. NO ONE ever did that for me in my whole career. As a result...my tone, quality, endurance, pitch, and phrasing improved so much we had to re-record many songs in the original demo. That's good news in case you're confused.

A word to the wise, when you are looking for a vocal coach, don't go to an automaton that treats everyone the same way with the same exercises. It doesn't work. You'll get by. But if you want to soar, choose Cathy Riso. Her experience in performing, and her master skills in vocal technique and physiology will take you to the moon and back!

Francesca Riso - Cathy Riso is my Mom but I have CHOSEN her as my voice teacher because she honestly has the best, most helpful and practical vocal suggestions of any teacher around. She has so much experience as a performer herself, she is able to give me, not only, vocal technique help, but actual performing advice that allows me to audition better and have the strongest, most confident performances of my life. I recommend her for students from beginners to adults returning to music after long hiatuses. She is kind but thorough; she has a huge library of music to choose from; and she is able to work with students on every aspect of vocal production, from breathing to what to do with your hands, to song selection, to altering a vowel sound for more relaxed presentation. I love my Mom and I love that she's my voice teacher!
